To celebrate the “Week of the Young Child,” Family Centers’ Early Care and Education program is planning a week of activities including art shows, reading activities and child/parent art projects. The goal is to focus public attention on the needs of young children and their families.
The week of activities will culminate on Thursday morning at 10:30am with a parade up Greenwich Ave including 200 preschoolers from all of Family Centers’ sites.
The week of activities is sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).
The celebration also puts the spotlight on local early childhood programs and the services they offer to promote healthy development.
