Back from France: Reflections on the Value of Grandparents

Anne Martine Cook shares observations from her recent trip to France. She says that  everywhere she looked on the crowded streets of  beautiful seaside town she visited, she saw  grandparents carrying small children or holding their hands.  “Grandparents were absolutely everywhere,” she says in her parenting column she writes for Party With Moms.

“Strollers were rare,” says Anne. “Just about everyone was on foot or being held, providing an intimacy that was visible and so nice to observe. What made these situations so striking for me is that I haven’t seen as much of it at home.”

Anne’s thoughtful column, “Vive Life Together,” is available in full on the Party With Moms website.
