Next for the Wrecking Ball in Greenwich? Two 1930s Houses

Demolition notices have been filed for two homes considered historic in Greenwich. One of the two slated for the wrecking ball is a 1936 single family home at 15 Oakley Lane. The house sold on Aug 1, 2016 from Eileen Schmidt to Ong Tiong Sin for $4,244,000.

The property is comprised of 4.88 acres.  The 6,707 square foot single family house has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.

Also slated for demolition is the house at 48 Round Hill Road, built in 1930. Owned by KL Greenwich, LTD, the multi-parcel sale on Sept. 30, 2015 was for $9,750,000 and includes 3.6 acres for the main house and 2.29 acres for the pool house and shed. According to the Assessor’s office at Greenwich Town Hall, the wood frame Colonial has 16 rooms including six bedrooms, six baths and two half-baths.
