Bernard G. Schneider, 71, a resident of Greenwich, passed away on Thursday, July 2.

Born on July 10, 1942, in Brooklyn, New York, Bernard was the son of Edna and Jacob Schneider. He leaves behind his wife Frances, and children Andrew and Jessica and son-in-law, Scott.

Bernard studied economics at Brooklyn College and Princeton University and earned a law degree from NYU.

Although he spent most of his professional life as an attorney, he was also a lifelong advocate of education, serving on two school boards and working as a high school math teacher late in his career.

He was active in the Retired Men’s Association of Greenwich, Greenwich Democratic Town Committee, Connecticut Bridge Association, as well as many other organizations. Bernard loved spending time with his family, dinners with friends, bridge and learning new things. His Passover Seders were legendary.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Sunday, July 5 at Shippan’s Thomas M Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave, Stamford, CT. Burial will follow at Beth El Cemetery.
