Screen Shot 2016-06-30 at 12.19.53 AMThe Department of Parks and Recreation announces that due to unforeseen mechanical issues, one of the Island Beach ferries, the “Indian Harbor,” will be out of service for the coming weekend, July 30-31.

As a result, ferry service to Island Beach will run every hour on the hour 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until further notice.

Parks & Rec will continue to have additional crew to expedite the boarding and disembarking process to enable the “Island Beach” to carry her maximum capacity of 294 passengers.

The notice from Parks & Rec offered an apology for any inconvenience this may cause. They are working on a remedy and will provide updates as necessary. Ferry service to Great Captain Island will not be affected and will operate on its posted schedule.
