SPLURGE on Lewis Street Continues Easter Basket Tradition

A local Easter tradition continues for the eighth consecutive year as SPLURGE partners with Kids in Crisis and the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County to collect Easter baskets for children in need.

SPLURGE provides a convenient downtown location for members of the community to donate filled Easter baskets from Friday, March 6th through Wednesday, April 1st.

We are so thankful for our generous clients who have supported this event year after year,” Sonia Sotire Malloy, the owner of SPLURGE said. These donated Easter baskets make a visit from the Easter Bunny a truly special occasion for many children in need.”

Shari Shapiro, Executive Director at Kids in Crisis, said, “The holidays can be a difficult time for children staying in our shelter, but through the wonderful Easter basket collection conducted by Sonia and SPLURGE, children can enjoy special occasions such as this. SPLURGE has been, and continues to be so generous, and for this we are truly grateful.”

Kate Lombardo, Executive Director of the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County added, “These Easter baskets bring joy and excitement to the lives of the children living in this area’s shelters. They subsist without many of the things we take for granted. The Easter baskets are a bright ray of sunshine into these children’s lives.”

Cellophane wrapped Easter baskets can be filled with items for children aged 2 to 17 and can include toys, journals, games, personal care items, gift cards, packaged healthy snacks and traditional Easter candy. Please contact Sonia Sotire Malloy if your school or organization is interested in contributing to the SPLURGE Easter basket drive.
