Greenwich Free Press Hits Readership Milestone

Screen Shot 2015-03-14 at 3.54.30 PMThis news site was created in February 2014. Just a year later we celebrate our jump in readership.

This week our page views cleared the six-figure hurdle. Without cheating.

We very rarely aggregate from other news sources. Several Town board, commission and committee meetings are now getting coverage. From to Harbor Management Commission to Parks and Rec. From ZBA to P&Z and ARC, we’re there with camera and tape recorder.

Time and time again we hear from Greenwich readers that they don’t want news about Danbury or Fairfield. A successful Greenwich story should be boring to someone in Darien or New Canaan.

Our stories are heavy on photos featuring Greenwich residents volunteering, performing and working. It helps that we live here too.

Thank you to Rosemary Zivic and Asher Almonacy for their reporting and photography skills. Thank you to ace Greenwich Academy interns, Katherine Du and Allie Primak. At GHS we are grateful for contributions past and present from Ryan Bologna and Alleyha Dannett, and GHS ’14 interns Courtney Oarr and Matt Pignataro. Also, Ella Dawson, James Finn, Mary Rowley, Christopher Stevenson and Nicola Traynor contributed several major features. We look forward to the contributions of five GHS seniors this spring. Thank you to reporter, John Collins and to Travis Sluss at MacInspires for his tech column and being our behind-the-scenes whiz. Tiny New York Kitchen’s Victoria Hart Glavin and her recipes keep us hungry.

Thank you to our advertisers including Anderson Associates, Greenwich Admissions Advisors, Allegra Dance Studio, Zaniac, Boy Scouts Camp Seton, Manfredi, Fairytale Beginnings, Yogasmoga, James Ball, Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, Posh Spa Fur Dogs, and others.

Whether you follow us on your Facebook newsfeed, on Twitter or by signing up to the daily email newsletter delivered at 6:00am, we are grateful to our faithful readers.
