Here is the line up of activities for Enrichment Day. The last time Adopt A Dog held Enrichment day, it filled up quickly. This is a fun, unique event good for the whole family.
Kids must be accompanied by guardians, but care for animals is learned behavior. What better teachable moment is there?
9:00-10:00 Activities for Children – open to children of any age, but minors must be accompanied by a guardian. We will make special, fall-themed, treats for our shelter dogs to enjoy, in addition to participating in creative activities to benefit the shelter animals! Space for this activity is limited to 10 participants (not including guardians).
10:00-10:45 – Level One Dog Obedience – this activity is open participants, ages 13 and up, and all minors must be accompanied by a guardian. We will socialize and teach very basic obedience skills to a small group of our dogs. This will help make them more adoptable! Space for this activity is limited to five volunteers (not including guardians).
11:00-11:45 – Level Two Dog Obedience – this activity is open to participants, ages 16 and up, all minors must be accompanied by a guardian. We will teach new skills to our more advanced shelter dogs to help them become more adoptable and well-behaved! Space for this activity is limited to four volunteers (not including guardians).
12:00-12:45 – Agility – this activity is open to participants, ages 16 and up, all minors must be accompanied by a guardian. We will teach shelter dogs how to navigate through an agility course! It will help them learn to focus on their handler while other dogs are around. Space for this activity is limited to five volunteers (not including guardians)
1:00-2:00 – Group Walk – this activity is open to current volunteers only who are over 18 years old. We will be walking a group of our adult dogs to give them exercise and some time away from the shelter. Space for this activity is limited to four volunteers.
2:30-3:00 – Quiet Time – this activity is open to participants ages 13 and up, all minors must be accompanied by a guardian. For the last activity of the day, we will relax and enjoy the company of some of our more senior or calm dogs. They may not be active enough to enjoy the other activities of the day, but they will enjoy being spoiled and loved by volunteers! Space for this activity is limited to five volunteers (not including guardians)
