Sidewalk behind Town Hall to Greenwich Common Will Close May 14

Starting Thursday, May 14, 2015, the sidewalk behind Town Hall that leads to Greenwich Avenue will be closed and pedestrian access will be prohibited for approximately 3 weeks.

During this time existing lighting and sidewalks will be removed, the area will be fenced off and new lighting and sidewalks will be installed. The Town of Greenwich asks that all pedestrians obey posted detour and closure signs and exhibit caution while traveling around this area.

For travel between Town Hall and Greenwich Ave, please use existing sidewalks on Field Point Road, West Elm Street and Greenwich Avenue (see map).

For Access to the Havemeyer Soccer Field. Please park in the Town Hall Garage and access field from lowest level (see map).

This work is part of two ongoing projects – the Greenwich Common project, located on Greenwich Avenue next to the Board of Education building (290 Greenwich Avenue), and the Town Hall Exterior Site Improvements – Phase II project. The Greenwich Common and Town Hall work began on April 6, 2015 and is estimated to last 3 to 4 months.
