PHOTOS: Santa Sprays Camp Simmons Campers with Fire Hose on a Sizzling Afternoon

For 17 years the Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich’s Camp Simmons has been offering a taste of the winter holidays in July.

The campers felt holiday spirit on Friday when Santa Claus arrived in a fire truck, along with fire fighters from Greenwich’s North Street Station.

Screams of joy were heard throughout the Lake Avenue camp as 150 campers, CITs and staff gathered to be cooled off by the fire hose at the hands of Santa.

When it was all over, only smiles were seen throughout Camp Simmons, as every camper, CIT, and staff member was filled with glee, grasping candy canes provided by St. Nick.

In just five months it will be time to take the decorations back out for the holidays.
