Parks & Rec and Indian Cultural Center of Greenwich to Host Annual Kite Flying Festival

Celebrate the start of  spring  at Parks & Rec’s annual Greenwich Kite Flying Festival at the beach at Tod’s Point on April 22 at 1:00pm.

Parks & Rec is partnering this year with the India Cultural Center of Greenwich, and there will be live music performed by Ray and Jay.

Participants need only bring a kite to fly. The more creative, fun, and colorful the kite, the better. All kite fliers will be recognized with a participation ribbon.

The India Cultural Center of Greenwich will provide a demonstration and instruction on the most popular Indian kite, the patang, which is an Indian fighter kite.They will also offer several patangs for children to fly and take home.

The event takes place at Greenwich Point on Saturday, April 22, from 1:00 to 3:00pm pm. (rain date, Sunday, April 23, at 2:00 pm). For rain date information, please call 203-861-6100.
