Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich members celebrated Valentine’s Day early through the Club’s coveted ice cream social on Friday.

Longtime Boys and Girls Club board vice chair, Rebecca Breed has provided hundreds of children with ice cream, complete with tasty toppings for seven years.

Mrs. Breed is loved by the Greenwich community, especially Boys & Girls Club of Greenwich because she has helped countless young people fulfill their dreams of going to and completing college.

In addition to her Board commitments, Rebecca volunteers in the Club’s education center, helping children with homework and giving encouragement and guidance.

Each Valentine’s Day Mrs. Breed throws an ice cream sundae party for all of the Club members. That party has become a highly anticipated annual event by everyone.

Rebecca’s service has not been limited to the Boys & Girls Club.  As a native of Greenwich, she has served as Selectman for 6 years, with two as First Selectman.  Afterwards she went to law school and practiced juvenile law in Stamford for many years.
