CT State Police Dash Cam Captures 1:32am Crash on I-95

Connecticut State Police published a dashboard camera video of a crash on I-95 in Fairfield that took place in the early morning hours of Friday, Nov. 27, the day after Thanksgiving.

On the Connecticut State Police Troop G Facebook page, a post explained how a Trooper inside his cruiser was investigating a minor two-vehicle accident on I-95 southbound in Fairfield when he narrowly missed being struck. The  violent crash was captured on the Trooper’s dashboard camera.

The post said the occupants of the initial accident were out of their vehicle and came within feet of being hit by an out of control black Nissan that stuck their vehicle at a high rate of speed. According to Troop G, there were no injuries in the incident.

The driver of the Nissan, Yoni Rojas, 21, of Bridgeport, was arrested on several motor vehicle charges, in addition to the criminal charge of Reckless Endangerment. He was held on $2,500 bond and was scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27 in Bridgeport.

State police remind that state law requires motorists approaching any emergency vehicle(s) on a highway to reduce their speed below posted speed limit and move over one lane if it is safe to do so.
