Western Middle School’s “Mane Event” 2020 to Support St Baldrick’s Foundation

Western Middle School’s “Mane” Event to benefit the St. Baldrick’s Foundation is back by popular demand.

This annual event enlists “shavees” to shave their head to raise money for childhood cancer research.

“From the parent band to the donations from local delis, and the volunteer event organizers to the fund-raising ‘shavees,'” said Kerry Gavin, Western Middle School Assistant Principal and event organizer.  “Western Middle School’s St. Baldrick’s event brings out the best in our community!”

This year represents Mr. Gavin’s 16th consecutive year shaving his head for St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Click here for his fundraising page.

Also, this year is Mr. Gavin’s son Dylan’s third straight year shaving his head along with his dad.

Western’s “Mane” Event is set for Thursday, March 5, 2020 at 6:30pm at Western Middle School.

St. Baldrick’s primary fundraisers are their popular head-shaving events (Western also welcomes ponytail donations of 8 inches or longer).

Western’s events have raised over $37,000 in the past two years for this worthy cause.
