Touch-A-Truck Rolled into Town for Another Successful Year

Every child dreams of sitting behind the wheel of a fire truck, honking the horn of a dump truck or riding a roaming railroad, and those dreams became reality at the Junior League of Greenwich’s 15th annual community event, “Touch a Truck,” on Sunday June 7, at Greenwich Town Hall.

This popular event was generously sponsored by Miller Motorcars, Valley Pediatrics, Greenwich Pediatric Dental Group and Moffly Media and had approximately 3000 visitors! Co-Chairs of the event, Heather DeVries and Tabitha Wunderlich were thrilled how many residents came out to take part in this event, and commented that in addition to all of the amazing activities taking place, the weather was picture perfect to help make the event even more spectacular!  The day included an exciting variety of vehicles such as traditional construction, emergency and rescue vehicles. The Bossy Frog Band provided entertainment for children.  Families enjoyed bouncy castles, hands on soccer instruction by Filipo Sports & Entertainment, and delicious food and refreshments from a variety of food trucks.

“In addition to being a wonderful community event, Touch a Truck is a fundraiser for the Junior League of Greenwich and its success is crucial to support our community projects,” said President Alessandra Messineo Long. “It’s truly a collaboration between our volunteers, the Town of Greenwich, our sponsors and supporters which results in bringing so much joy to many families.” All proceeds from Touch a Truck will benefit the community projects of the Junior League of Greenwich.

The Junior League of Greenwich is thrilled with the success of this event and looks forward to supporting our ongoing projects and bringing new projects to the community in our upcoming year.
