Needs Clearing House Seeks Help to Send Disabled Girl to Summer Camp

The Needs Clearing House (NCH), a local organization that helps people in need, is trying to raise $2,940 to pay for summer camp for a disabled girl.

Tiffany Johnson is 28 and has suffered from Cerebral palsy since birth. She has been wheel chair bound and for the last 20 years has attended the Easter Seals Camp in Hebron, which specializes in caring for disabled people.

“Two weeks of camp is what makes her life,” said Needs Clearing House’s Joe Kaliko. “The other 50 weeks she lives in poor conditions in Bridgeport, where her wheel chair can’t operate.  She literally crawls around almost all the time at home.”

Unfortunately state funding cuts make it impossible for Tiffany to afford camp this year. The total cost of camp is $2,940.

Needs Clearing House is looking for donations earmarked to pay for Tiffany’s camp expense for this summer, 2017.

“No amount is too small,” Kaliko said.
