Junior League of Greenwich Accepting Applications for Community Grant Awards

The Junior League of Greenwich is now accepting applications for its Community Grant Award.

The Community Grant is given to one or more community organizations and is intended to fund new initiatives or expand programs and services relating to significant community needs. The deadline for receipt of completed applications is DECEMBER 8, 2017 and will be presented to the recipient in the Spring 2018. For more information, please call the JLG office 203-869-1979 or email the Junior League at [email protected]. Applications can be downloaded from the website www.jlgreenwich.org under ABOUT, COMMUNITY GRANT AWARD.

Last year, the Junior League of Greenwich presented the Community Grant Award to Abilis, Inc. The grant was utilized to launch a new activities program, “Cooking and Crafts” for children with disabilities in the 4th-8th grade level. There is a gap in Saturday morning programming options for children with special needs. Most children have sports and other activities, while children with special needs do not have that opportunity. The Junior League of Greenwich grant enabled Abilis to fill this gap.

The Junior League of Greenwich has been bettering the community for nearly 60 years. It is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained individuals. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. The JLG is committed to inclusive environments of diverse individuals and reaches out to women of all races, religions, and national origins who demonstrate an interest in and commitment to voluntarism.
