Greenwich Salvation Army Annual Town Employee & Resident Food Drive is THURSDAY!

food driveFor the tenth year, the Greenwich Service Unit of the Salvation Army is once again sponsoring their annual Town employee and resident food drive, which benefits Neighbor to Neighbor and the Greenwich Department of Social Services’ emergency food pantry.

The drive is taking place on Thursday, June 25 in the Gisborne Room in Town Hall from 8 am to 4 pm.

This year we are focusing on children in need during the summer months. About 15% of Greenwich students (over 1,300) receive free or reduced lunch during the school year and the summer months can present a challenge for some parents to meet food needs.

The most needed items are cereal, Parmalat, canned fruit, healthy snacks, canned tuna, peanut butter, jelly, juice boxes, milk boxes (unrefrigerated), nutrition bars. Also needed: pasta/tomato sauce, canned soup, canned corn.

Please help us fill our pantries at a time of year when supplies are low.
