HomeFront was one of the recipients of this year’s Lenten Offering at First Congregational Church. HomeFront is a community-based, volunteer-driven program that provides free home repairs to low-income homeowners, thus, enabling them to remain in their homes with an improved quality of life. HomeFront serves Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford and Westchester Counties.
Volunteers from First Congregational Church joined in on HomeFront Day on May 3. Close to 30 volunteers spent the day painting and making minor repairs to the home of a very appreciate elderly woman in Old Greenwich. Put aptly by Barbara Wilcov of First Church, “This is what community is all about!”
