11th Annual Walk for Abilis Will Include Inaugural 5K Fun

The 11th Annual Walk for Abilis, which this year includes an Inaugural 5K Run, will be held at Tod’s Point in Old Greenwich on Sunday, October 16. The Walk/Run is a family-friendly event designed for individuals of all ages and abilities.

The event includes a wheelchair and stroller accessible one-mile route, children’s activities, including a bouncy tent and fire truck, plus a variety of local food vendors. The activities begin at 9:00 a.m. with the start of the 5K run and continues with the walk at 10:30 a.m.

Abilis provides state-of- the-art therapeutic and life services to over 700 individuals with a wide range of intellectual, developmental, social, emotional, and physical challenges.

The Walk/Run kicks off the 65 th Anniversary for the Greenwich-based organization.

The Walk brings together Abilis families, local business partners, and community members to build awareness and raise critical funds for Abilis programs. “This is the one community event we do every year in which all of our families and their children can participate,” said Abilis CEO/President Dennis W. Perry. “We all look forward to this special day in support of the local special needs community we serve.”
