Guitar Virtuoso Daniel Lippel to Play at St. Catherine of Siena Church

Guitar virtuoso Daniel Lippel joins conductor Mark Kaczmarczyk and orchestra in Joaquin Rodrigo’s Concierto de Aranquez at St. Catherine of Siena Church on Saturday, April 25th at 8:00 pm.

The famous guitar concerto evokes images and melodies of Spain. Called an “exciting soloist” (NY Times), “versatile and skillful guitarist” (Time Out New York) and a “modern guitar polymath” (Guitar Review), Daniel Lippel enjoys a diverse career that ranges through solo performances, chamber music, innovative commissioning and recording projects.

Based in New York, Lippel has been the guitarist with ICE (International Contemporary Ensemble) since 2005 and Flexible Music since 2004. As a chamber musician, he has performed throughout Asia, Europe, South America, and the U.S. He has performed as a guest with the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, New York New Music Ensemble, and Either/Or Ensemble, among others.

Acclaimed for his “excellent performances” by Chamber Music America Magazine, conductor Mark Kaczmarczyk leads the Festival Choir and Orchestra in Gabriel Faure’s sublime Requiem to conclude the evening.
