Auditions for Off-Beat Players “Bye Bye Birdie”

Off-Beat Players will hold auditions for their summer musical, “BYE BYE BIRDIE” on June 19 from 6:00-8:00pm at at the Arch Street Teen Center in Greenwich.  Callbacks on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 6:00 pm.

Off-Beat Players is a nonprofit organization based in Greenwich that beings together teens and young adults with and without developmental disabilities to produce and perform in a fully-staged musical with a live orchestra. Off-Best Players performers learn from one another and benefit from participating in a performing arts program.

Younger people gain an appreciation and respect for one another and their contributions to the company. The program develops life skills, instills confidence uncovers hidden talents and affords every participant the opportunity to experience success in performing arts. The goal is that through the experience young people develop sensitivity toward one another’s abilities as well as disabilities, embrace the inclusion of all ability levels and celebrate differences in future life experience.

Some of the members have performed together since 2001 in shows including  “Nunsense”, “Thoroughly Modern Millie”, “Willy Wonka“, “Urinetown”,  “How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”, and “Spamalot”.
